epiensos is built by Blue Cielo, Inc. for Biocurrent, Inc., a bioelectronic medicine company with a Class II neuromodulation device for chronic pain, a completed 264 participant randomized trial, and a 510(k) pending. Biocurrent needed to find, win, and deliver on grants without a grants office, and nothing on the market understood SBIR rules, foreign components, or what happens after the award.

So we built it, and we built every company specific value as configuration so it could be licensed to the next company in the same position.

What we believe

• Go to the source. Opportunities come from the official APIs and feeds, not from a resold database.
• Numbers over feelings. A fit score anchored to a published base rate, a win probability, and an expected value beat a gut call, and they can be argued with.
• Facts over prose. Drafting from verified facts with owners and dates is the only kind of AI drafting we trust in a funding application.
• The loop is the product. Think, Act, Learn, Repeat. Every outcome updates the model and the next decision starts from evidence.
• Companies count. Grant software has been nonprofit shaped for a decade. Small companies doing real research deserve a tool that knows their rules.

The name

epiensos is a made up word. We wanted something short, pronounceable, and unclaimed, with a hint of the Greek epi, meaning upon or in addition. Grants are what you build upon.

TALR

The learning loop in epiensos is Andrew Blount's TALR method: Think clearly, act deliberately, learn honestly, repeat intelligently. The formal statement is short. The action is chosen from the current state, the objective, and the model. The action changes the state and produces evidence. The evidence changes the model. Then the process repeats from a better model. Every application in epiensos is one cycle.
